project starts the same way: you 送信 a drawing, we review it, and within 24 hours you 見積もりを依頼.
A drawing with complete dimensions, clear 公差, and the right file format gets you a quote in hours. A hand sketch on a napkin? We’ll still quote it — but expect follow-up questions, revisions, and delays. This guide covers what professional buyers and engineers need to know about technical drawings for
| What We Need | Why It Matters | Without It |
|---|---|---|
| 全寸法 (mm or inch) | Determines 材料 size and machine time | We guess → you get a range, not a firm price |
| 公差 (±0.1mm, ±0.05mm, など) | Determines which machine and how many setups | We default to ISO 2768-m → may be too tight or too loose for your 用途 |
| 材料 & finish (6061-T6, anodized, など) | 材料 is 30-60% of part cost; finish adds process steps | We’ll suggest, but the choice affects lead time and price |
(STEP, IGES, or X_T) | Enables instant CAM programming and collision detection | 2D-only → we redraw in CAD → adds 1-2 days and potential errors |
A German industrial equipment client sent us 12 part drawings as STEP files with ISO 2768-f 公差 and EN AW-6082 材料 specs. We quoted within 4 hours, started production within 48 hours, and shipped in 3 weeks. Compare that to another project where we received 6 pages of handwritten dimensions with no 3Dファイル — 12 email exchanges and 8 days just to finalize the quote.
Key Drawing 標準s: GD&T, ISO 2768 & ASME Y14.5
If your drawings reference a 標準, we know exactly what you expect. If they don’t, we have to ask. Here are the three 標準s that appear most often in our RFQs:
| 標準 | What It カバー | 最適用途 |
|---|---|---|
| ISO 2768 | General 公差 for linear/angular dimensions, flatness, straightness. Four classes: f (fine), m (medium), c (coarse), v (very coarse). | European clients, general machining. Most common: ISO 2768-m. |
| ASME Y14.5 | GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Defines symbols for flatness, parallelism, position, 振れ, プロファイル — with データム and feature control frames. | North American clients, tight-tolerance aerospace/automotive parts. |
| DIN 7167 / ISO 14405 | General 公差 with envelope principle. Often referenced together with ISO 2768 on German drawings. | DACH market (Germany/Austria/Switzerland). |
If you write “ISO 2768-m” in your title block, we’ll machine to ±0.1mm for dimensions under 30mm and ±0.2mm for 30-120mm. That’s our default interpretation, and it works for 90% of industrial parts. If you need tighter, specify it — we can hold CNC加工における±0.005mm where required.
“M10” is not enough — is it M10×1.5 (coarse) or M10×1.0 (fine)? Is it through-hole or blind? What tolerance class — 6H or 6G? Thread details determine tooling and cycle time.
A note like “Ra 3.2” (μm) tells us the finish. “Smooth” or “nice finish” doesn’t. For anodized アルミニウム, we default to Ra 1.6 before coating; for turned steel shafts, Ra 0.8 is 標準. If you care about surface finish, put a number on it.
Every feature needs exactly one dimension reference. Redundant dimensions create ambiguity; missing dimensions force us to ask.
We machine すべて to the drawing, but if you flag which features are CTF, we can prioritize 検査 time there and relax non-critical areas — saving you money.
PDF is fine for review, but we need STEP, IGES, or X_T for CAM programming. 送信ing both = fastest quote.
| Format | Use It For | Don’t Use It For |
|---|---|---|
| STEP (.stp /.step) | ✅ CNCに最適。 Solid model with precise geometry. Direct import into CAM (Fusion 360, Mastercam). | — |
| Less preferred than STEP — can lose feature tree. |
| Parasolid (.x_t) | ✅ Siemens NX / Solid Edge users. Solid modeling kernel. | — |
| DWG / DXF | ✅ 2D drawings with dimensions, | ❌ Not for 3D — we can’t CAM from DXF for milled parts. |
| ✅ Reference only. Mark up 公差, notes. | ❌ Never as the only file — we must redraw, adding time + error risk. | |
| ❌ Not for CNC — mesh format loses 精密. See STL vs STP ガイド. |
STEP + PDF. The STEP file gives us the geometry; the PDF gives us the annotations, 公差, and notes. This combination gets quoted in hours, not days.
If you’re 設計ing in SolidWorks, here’s the streamlined workflow to generate a manufacturing-ready drawing:
- 3Dモデルを開く → File → Make Drawing from Part/組立.
A3 or A4 for single parts; A2 or A1 for 組立品.
- 標準ビューを配置 (front, top, right, isometric) from the View Palette. Add section views and detail views for complex features.
For automatic import of model dimensions, use Model Items (insert dimensions from features or sketches).
- GD&T注釈を追加: 公差, surface finish symbols, weld symbols, データム — from the Annotation toolbar.
- 部品表(BOM)を挿入 for 組立品: Insert → Tables → Bill of 材料s.
Save as.slddrw for future edits. Export to PDF for the annotated drawing and STEP(.stp) for the 3D geometry — 送信 both.
